Metamorphosis Monday Twice Over

I know it's Sunday but I'm always running behind so I vowed to be the first one on this week's Metamorphosis Monday.............

My friend Kim and I and my daughter-in-law had a big garage sale yesterday. Somehow we always manage to trade goodies and I brought home an empty shadow box and a gold roman shade curtain............ I had a lace curtain on my front door that needed updating and when I saw the gold curtain, I thought it might do. I caught a sale at Tuesday Morning a few weeks ago and picked up some beautiful red and gold fringe......... Hmmmmmmm..... tell me what you think.... My friend Kim suggested the graduation collage in the shadow box. It still needs push pins and the bottom brackets on my front door need to come down.....

Looking to Take a Beach Trip???

My friend Kim's Orange Beach, Alabama condo is now rental ready so I thought I'd post a link in case anyone is interested .... You might feel somewhat envious of Kim and her sweet husband Callan for having the luck to own such a gorgeous place as this but I'll tell you, it came with a price. Callan was critically injured in a work related accident four years ago. He's been through hell and back and I'll tell you, a nicer guy couldn't be found. I teasingly call him my boyfriend and he tells their daughter that I'm gonna be her stepmom one day and the other day Kim commented that she might need to be seriously worried about us knocking her off now that they have a beach retreat. lol As you can tell by a previous post, it's a roomy and beautiful place right on the beach. And the decor? It's the best, don't you think???? ;-)

Old Time Pottery - My New Favorite Store

Found a really really neat store in Foley, Alabama near the outlet mall called Old Time Pottery. There are bargains there like you wouldn't believe! I purchased all the greenery for this urn for a song and added the red flowers later when I hit a Hobby Lobby 50% off sale. Thinking it needs some feathers in it, maybe in brown tones? Any thoughts on that, anyone? Not bad for under $30.00, huh?

I SURVIVED SENIOR TRIP!

We've made it back home safe and sound. Kaitlyn has a great group of friends and they were a pleasure to chaperone. Not a crazy footloose kid in the bunch..... I wanted to give each of them some sort of memento to remember the trip by so I purchased some shadowbox frames and small shells and sand dollars and scrapbook letters and made 8 of these frames........ Now it's time to gear up for college. Kaitlyn will be living on campus and rooming with Carly, the blonde to the far right in the picture, so we need to start working on a dorm room theme...........
