On my last trip in to Old Time Pottery, I found this beautiful red and yellow quilted table runner marked down to $4.39 and just had to have it. I looked high and low for coordinating placemats and napkins, but they were all gone, every last one. There was just something about those sunny colors that hooked me and it made its way into my buggy. When I got home, I started looking around for objects that would complement the runner. I had totally forgotten the red canape plates I scored at TJ Maxx for $5.99 a few months ago. They match perfectly, don't you think? The yellow tulip arrangement that usually resides on the side of my whirlpool tub was bought at a garage sale for $3.00...... My only new purchase was the golden yellow napkins from World Market Imports, 6 napkins for $9.99. World Market has just gotten in an assortment of gorgeous colors from yellows to reds, purples, blues, and greens.....and I want em all! That store is quickly becoming my favorite.
I used my Southern Living at Home glass-topped tray to ground the flowers on the colorful runner. The fleur de lis napkins rings came from The Royal Standard a while back. Lil Brookie broke one of them but luckily they were still in stock when I returned, so I was able to replace it. Pllllleeeassse ignore the messy countertop in the next picture. I have developed a severe case of the late summer lazies.... happens every year like clockwork....
I love the table and happy 100. I just was in Natchitoches and scored a pewter fleur de lis napkin ring. I have found three now. The guilted runner is the best and how lucky to have everything else at the house. What is old time pottery? We don't have one of those. I can't even see the counter, I only have eyes for your tablescape.
ReplyDeleteLooks great, I love these colors together they are fun-enjoy!
ReplyDeleteWhat great color combination this is. Love how you've put your table together and it helped you decide on your menu -- now that's tabletop inspiration!
ReplyDeleteI think that it's a good thing that you couldn't find the matching napkins to your wonderful tablerunner because your mix and match design is perfection. Thank you for sharing your charming design. Cherry Kay
ReplyDeleteThe canape plates and napkins complement the runner beautifully!

What a cheery table, Terri...it is just waiting for everyone to gather. I love the napkins from World Market, the are large, wear well and can get them in any color.

ReplyDeleteWell Terri, we don't have World Market or Old Time Pottery but I sure wish we did! Your table is so warm and welcoming and dinner sounds yummy--I'll be right over. Linda
ReplyDeleteHi Terri....I get over here sooner or later now don't I...seems later...but anyhow I love your tablescpape color combination, it looks so pretty!~ I just read you are happily dating...I love to hear that..best wishes...he is a pretty lucky dude!
ReplyDeleteHi Terri! I have those same napkins from World Market, and I love them too! I got two packs and wanted to try them before I got more. You have the bad luck with dishes, I have it with napkins not holding up, lol! I hate to hear the English Countryside didn't hold up. I would think it was some kind of defect and they should have replaced them. I am thinking the company would have replaced them since the store would not. Thanks for stopping by:-)
