About Me

My photo
My passion is decorating with vintage and antique finds on a budget. There was a time when I wouldn't have dreamed of going into a goodwill. That day has passed. :) My second love is scrapbooking all those special family moments for posterity, and I recently set up my very own scrapbooking room. I have three beautiful children, two sons and a daughter as well as a sweet (albeit full blooded Yankee) daughter-in-law and two grandgirls. I also enjoy gardening, meeting new friends and relaxing on my patio in the evenings with a glass of fine wine. During the summer of 2001, I spent two glorious weeks at Kennedy Space Center. I've been somewhat of a space geek ever since....

Hop, Hop, Hoppy Easter Tablescape

It's that time of year again................. Spring has sprung and it's egg hunt time.  And time to think about setting a nice Easter table.....  But first things first, had to visit the ole Easter bunny and have a pancake breakfast and Easter egg hunt with him.  Believe it or not, my girls are twins.  One looks like daddy and one looks like momma.  Kinda neat, huh?
And now it's tablescape time............
I've been itching to do something new with that roll of burlap I bought a while back.  I paired it with some faux Easter eggs and a little raffia for a simple but sweet look and accented with the bunny I bought off the sale table for a couple of dollars at Home Goods last summer.  This southern girl is OFFICIALLY on a budget.  Had AC problems and had the repairman out who band-aided the problem with a transistor and said if I'm lucky it'll last the summer.  The entire system needs replacing to the tune of $5,600......  And I have TWO units!  OUCH!!!!!!!!
Rather, make that OUCH!!!!! OUCH!!!!!

The small bunny was purchased at Tuesday Morning a few weeks ago.  Doesn't she look cute nestled in the Phalaenopsis peeking out at us?

Haven't a CLUE as to what I'll fix for Easter dinner, but the table will sure look nice.  Tee hee.... Note to self:  Clean the dirty fingerprints off the back door before company arrives.......  Chances are that I'll have to move the entire tablescape to the dining room table and add more settings as that table seats more people.

I didn't spend a penny on anything new, just repurposed things I already had on hand..... My daddy would be real proud of that, bless his heart.

Couldn't help posting this close up shot.  I love the way the light reflects off fine china.

HAPPY EASTER, Y'ALL!!!!!!!!!!

Linking up with Susan over at Between Naps on the Porch for Tablescape Thursday.  Hop on over and pay her a visit.....  http://betweennapsontheporch.blogspot.com/

  1. Love the burlap, it is perfect for this tablescape. The green dishes and the rattan place mats go so well together.

  2. Burlap ribbon is wonderful. We only have one unit and I keep my fingers crossed every spring when I have to turn it on for the first time. Working again! Now you should have saved the money you spent on that new fountain for your backyard? Your new header! Love it.
