Have you ever noticed how unexpected surprises are the absolutely best ones? I planted this calla lily not long after moving into our new house. In the early years, it bloomed and bloomed but as the crepe myrtle that is planted nearby grew larger and more dense, it stopped blooming, presumably from lack of sun. I've been meaning to dig it up and move it for several years now, but just haven't taken the time. Hubbie cut the crepe myrtle WAY BACK in early March, way back to the point that I wondered what in the world he was thinking. That poor tree reminded me of Bart Simpson's hair...... and I laughed out loud at it more than once when I pulled into my driveway. Well, low and behold, the calla lily has bloomed for the first time in years. Sometimes things happen that we can't comprehend or understand at the time, but there's a pay-off at the end that we never expected....
Fun to have a surprise now and then!
