Thanks again to Susan over at Between Naps on the Porch for hosting Tablescape Thursday. For my second tablescape, I've decided on a beach theme to celebrate the long lazy days of summer. The three best things about teaching are ......... June, July, and August. Hey, can you tell what I do for a living? ;-)
The starfish, shells, lantern, and apothecary jars were purchased on my last beach trip to Destin. The fish plates are from a Fitz and Floyd pattern I've had for years and the placemats and napkins are from a hand stitched set I purchased for a song many years ago on my honeymoon in St. Thomas, Virgin Islands. The candleholders were recently given to me by my best friend Kim. She said they match better in my house than hers and I certainly wasn't gonna dispute that..... Aren't they beautiful? By the way, can anyone help me with layout issues? I'm having trouble inserting narrative between my photos. Does it work better to upload the photos first, then go back and insert text? Post me a comment; I'd love to hear from you.....
Great minds think alike! Beautiful tablescape. Our photos today were from our trip to St. John. We are ready to go back!
ReplyDeleteOh, I love your fish plates! I have a set of Fitz and Floyd from years ago, but they aren't nearly that whimsical. Love the design on them. Love the whole look. Fun and summery!
ReplyDeleteI love Destin and St. Thomas, too.
Happy Tablescape Thursday!
XO,
Sheila :-)

Lovely tablescape! Very beachy. I always upload my photos first in reverse order. So I plan ahead and think which picture I want last then go from there. Then I go back and do the text. While typing, the pictures sometimes ended up very far apart. I then do delete very carefully until the pictures and text are closer together. Sometimes blogger lets me type before the first picture and sometimes not. But usually a tap on the space bar adds a space before the first picture and then I can place my cursor there to start my text part.
ReplyDeleteHope that helps!!
Love those plates!
ReplyDeleteI upload my pictures first and then add text...
For me, on the compose page, I can click on a picture then move around (up or down), while still holding the mouse
You could try it in the HTML screen too, hitting enter or backspace...
that's what works for me...good luck!
Wonderful beachy tablescape. I love those pillar candle holders! What a great friend to give them up!
ReplyDeleteI am brand new to blogging but I find if you go to the HTML screen (beside the Compose) you can cut and paste in there as well as add spacing, etc.

Great tablescape. I love all of the shells and how great some came from the Virgin Islands. Love it there. Our fave is St. John...Trunk Bay.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful beach theme. I loved all of these today. Your plates are so unique.
ReplyDeleteI like the peaceful feel of the setting--
ReplyDeleteThere is a simple elegance to your table setting. The fish plates are so whimsical. Thank you for taking us on a little dream trip to St John's. I've only been as close as Red Hook, St Thomas...so close, yet so far away.
